Room capacities

host up to 130 people in our main conference room (Salone Grollo) and between eight and 44 people in our smaller spaces, depending on the set-up - we're able to run up to six parallel sessions and we can video-link some rooms
total building capacity is 331 people at any one time (up to 232 on the first floor, and up to 99 on the ground floor)
most of our rooms have flexible set-up options including theatre, horseshoe, boardroom and classroom styles
indoor and outdoor function spaces - enjoy views of Prato’s historical campus from our large terrace or admire Paul Bangay’s Italian garden
all our rooms have air-conditioning and heating

Grollo is our largest room, suitable for large conferences, lectures, concerts and receptions. Salone Grollo can be video-linked to other rooms on the first floor, increasing its capacity to 262 participants across multiple rooms for keynote sessions. It's equipped with modern A/V Equipment.

The Terrace is often used to host welcome or farewell receptions and is an ideal spot to relax with colleagues away from the conference spaces. Here you can also enjoy views of Prato’s historic centre. Upon request, catering facilities can be set up on the Terrace.

A favourite location of many of our visitors, the Garden can be used for welcome

Catering spaces

The Reading Room can be used as a small classroom or workshop space. Located in a quiet area adjoining the Bill Kent Library, it is also an ideal space for researchers to access our special collections. The Reading Room includes standard audio-visual equipment.

We have a number of distinct areas which can accommodate a range of catering options:
Main Bar The Main Bar is conveniently located close to several conference rooms and the Terrace. Typically used for coffee breaks and receptions, it’s the place for quick refreshments and to catch up with colleagues between conference sessions. Sala Biliardo Traditionally used as Palazzo Vaj’s billiard room, Sala Biliardo is located alongside the Main Bar. Floor plan and room configuration (Space 8 – First floor)
Sala Specchi A bright and open space, located close to conference areas, Sala Specchi (the mirrored room) is an ideal catering space for larger groups. Floor plan and room configuration (Space 9 – First floor)
Piccolo Bar A smaller, more intimate location, the Piccolo Bar is full of character and is a passing point between the Salone Grollo and the breakout areas. The Piccolo Bar can be used as a catering space and for small receptions. Floor plan and room configuration (Space 3 – First floor)
